Swinney cans Spence
Posted 02:07 p.m., October 13, 2008
Just got it confirmed that interim head coach Dabo Swinney has fired offensive coordinator Rob Spence.
Athletic director Terry Don Phillips gave Swinney the option to retain Spence or let him go. Spence, who was in his fourth season with the Tigers, left the McFadden Building about a half-hour ago.
I'm guessing Swinney will promote a graduate assistant to fill the open spot on the staff, but I'm really not sure right now.

Good for him. Shows that he is control of the program and not a puppet of TDP.
It his team.

it'll be nice having a coach that can make an in-game (or heck, even an in-season) adjustment

I must agree with the above posters - good job Larry on your unending coverage as this unfolds. Keep it up.
Hopefully Brad Scott is next on the chopping block.

Agree with above posters. Great job, but you really need to get an RSS feed on your blog.
