Bowden done

Posted 11:56 a.m., October 13, 2008

Multiple sources have confirmed that Tommy Bowden is out at Clemson.

The decision was made after two meetings over the weekend among administration officials.

Cris Ard of Tigerillustrated.com reported this a while ago, and numerous sources close to the situation have confirmed it's a done deal.

Receivers coach Dabo Swinney is expected to serve as the interim coach.

More later.

Was Spence retained?

He had lost the fans and was losing the team. It had to be done. Will Dabo keep Spence?

About time. Felt like a decade. Oh wait....

Now comes the equally hard part - signing a top coach unlike in years past.

guess we can start the list now. my top few choices:

1) Jeff Tedford
2) Bud Foster
3) Cowher (more of a dream)

Add Bobby Johnson to the list. Better now than later for recruiting and marketing for the next head coach. I suspect that Dabo will set the agenda at a minimum with Spence if he stays. Dabo could be the next offense Co-ordinator.
