Not bad for a couple of rookies.
Not great, but OK for a first-time effort.
ABC News 4 sports anchor Scott Eisberg and The Post and Courier's Andrew Miller were a combined 9-3 last week in their high school football picks season debuts.
Eisberg takes home the weekly honors, going 5-1 last week in the first full week of high school football. Miller was a respectable 4-2.
Miller failed to see the improvement in Colleton County, picking Beaufort over the resurging Cougars. Timberland also avenged last year's loss to Hanahan.
Eisberg was tripped up on Ashley Ridge-James Island going with new head coach Ike Allred and the Trojans.
This week, the only difference between our two prognosticators is the Sumter-Stratford matchup.
Eisberg goes with the hometown Knights, while Miller picks the visiting Gamecocks.
Here are this week's picks:
Wando at Ashley Ridge
Eisberg: Forty-five unanswered points last week, hard to mess with that momentum. Wando, 35-14.
Miller: Ashley Ridge's Steven Duncan one of the top QBs in the Lowcountry; Wando 0-7 on the road in 2013. Wando, 24-21.
Berkeley at Summeville
Eisberg: McKissick's bunch almost tripped up against Cane Bay, they won't overlook Berkeley. Green Wave, 42-28
Miller: The Stags made Stratford work last week and Green Wave nearly stumble against Cane Bay. Summerville, 38-17.
Bishop England at Hanahan
Eisberg: Two tough losses for the Hawks, I live in Hanahan and don't want unrest on my block. It won't be three. Hanahan, 30-24.
Miller: Bishop England's defense needs to mature quickly. Won't happen against Hawks. Hanahan, 35-13.
Colleton County at James Island
Eisberg: After watching Colleton last week, I'm a believer - Collins' Cougars my dark horse this year. Colleton, 21-10.
Miller: Picked against Colleton County last week; not going to make same mistake twice. Colleton, 20-13.
Goose Creek at Ridge View
Eisberg: After a trip to Ohio and now onto Columbia, Gators have run out of movies for the coach bus - all game film now. Game faces too. Gators, 45-10
Miller: Gators start season with two roads games. Won't matter. Gators, 38-7.
Sumter at Stratford
Eisberg: Solid win for the Knights at Sumter last year, they'll do it again at home this time. Stratford, 14-7
Miller: Stratford wins in Joe Marion debut. Sumter thumps Greenwood last week. Sumter, 23-20.
