COLUMBIA - Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm will headline the annual Charleston Blue Jamboree later this month.

The event, organized by the Charleston County Democratic Party, is an annual gathering that drew more than 300 people in 2013, with Congressman Elijah Cummings as the featured speaker. This year's event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Jenkins Institute for Children in North Charleston. Tickets are $10.

Granholm is a senior advisor for Ready for Hillary, a super PAC that has spent more than $7.4 million, as of June 30.

The event will also feature other Democrats running for office in the Palmetto State including gubernatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen, lieutenant governor hopeful Bakari Sellers, secretary of state candidate Ginny Deerin and superintendent of education candidate Tom Thompson, among others. U.S. Senate candidates Brad Hutto and Joyce Dickerson will also speak.
