A St. Johns firefighter was treated and released from a hospital this morning after he was injured while battling a fire at a warehouse at the Cassique Golf Course on Kiawah.

The fire was first reported about 4:30 a.m. at a maintenance warehouse used to house fertilizer, St. Johns Battalion Chief James Ghi said. The fire spread and damaged a second building used to house golf equipment, he said.

Ghi said the firefighter is doing well after being released from the hospital.

Charleston firefighters and Charleston County EMS also responded to the fire.
