College of Charleston sophomore Laura Fuenfstueck will represent her home country of Germany this week at the Women's World Amateur Team Championships (WATC) to be held on Sept. 2-7 in Karuizawa, Japan.

Fuenfstueck, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association player of the year who is ranked No. 79 in the world in women's amateur golf, is one of three German players so honored to compete for the Espirito Santo Trophy.

Volleyball

Citadel volleyball will hold "Meet the Bulldogs" at 6 p.m. Tuesday at McAlister Field House. The event is free.

Festivities begin with an intrasquad scrimmage. Pizza from DeSano's Pizza in Charleston will be provided for the first 100 fans in attendance. T-shirts will be on sale for $10 each.

Fans can meet players and get autographs after the scrimmage.

Cross country

Charleston Southern head women's track and field coach Tosha Ansley announced the hiring of Sirena Williams as head cross country coach. Williams, who spent last year as University of Missouri Track & Field's Director of Operations, will also coach the Bucs' mid-distance, distance and jump squads during the track season.
