GREENVILLE, S.C. - Authorities say a Greenville County deputy was involved in a deadly pedestrian accident.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the crash happened at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday south of Interstate 85. Highway Patrol Cpl. Bill Rhyne says a deputy struck the pedestrian, and then there was another crash involving two other cars.
Rhyne says there were no other injuries.
Deputy Coroner Jeff Fowler says the person killed was a man who was in the roadway when he was struck. The man's name has not been released.
Troopers are investigating the wreck. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is conducting an internal investigation to determine if there were any policy violations.
