Anson is still closed for renovations stemming from a Christmastime fire (its website projects a November reopening date), but one of its former pastry chefs has struck out on her own.
Candice Padgett, who left the restaurant before its current closure, is the baker behind Ragamuffin Sugarshop, a new Park Circle addition specializing in cupcakes, cookies and muffins. Other items on the menu include bagel sandwiches and organic coffee.
Housed in what Padgett describes as "an old vintage building," the shop "has plenty of space to host a birthday party or shower, and will offer party packages."
Ragamuffin is at 4245 Rivers Ave. and is open for business 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Ragamuffin doesn't have a phone.
