John K. Gourdin has been promoted to vice president of preconstruction at Cullum Constructors.

Previously, he was estimating manager. He has a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of South Carolina.

Grace Jennings has joined Breeze Events and Yoj Events as associate planner. Previously, she was with JMC Charleston and Lana Restaurant and Bar.

Health care

Dr. Heather Cook has joined Coastal Fertility Specialists as a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist. She has a medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of California at Los Angeles. She also is a faculty member at the Medical University of South Carolina.


April Becude has been promoted to manager of wind and hail operations for State Farm agent Larry Davis in North Charleston. She has more than 10 years of insurance industry experience.


Patricia "Trish" Lowe Smith has been promoted to curator of historic architectural resources at Drayton Hall. Smith has bachelor's degree in art history from the University of South Carolina and a master's degree in historic preservation from the Clemson University/College of Charleston graduate program.
