- Hindus across central Florida are celebrating the opening of a new house of worship.

The $9.4 million Manav Mandir Temple in the Brevard County community of Suntree is marking the opening with purification rituals, dancing and prayer.

Three days of festivities began with the opening of the 11,000-square-foot sanctuary Friday.

Florida Today reports Hindu priests are leading ceremonies throughout the weekend with chanting, drumming and offerings to gods.
