Sheriff: Man killed, others injured in Darlington County burglary

DARLINGTON, S.C. - The Darlington County Sheriff's office is investigating a burglary that left one man dead several others injured.

Area media outlets report that the burglary happened early Friday morning in the Mechanicsville area of Darlington County.

Coroner J. Todd Hardee says 25-year-old Marquis Benjamin of Darlington was shot and killed. It was not immediately clear who else may have been injured.

Deputies say that Benjamin was believed to be involved in the burglary. They say they are also looking for a second suspect who may have been wounded.
