2013: 5-5, 2-3 in Region 7-AAA
Coach: Bradley Adams (Fifth year)
Returning starters: 13 (8 offense, 5 defense)
Top players: DB/RB Michael Billings, QB Jarvis Brown, WR Zaquan Collins, WR Darrion Graham
Georgetown barely missed out on the Class AAA playoffs last season, and one reason why was Michael Billings' injury plagued season.
Billings, a running back and defensive back, suffered a high ankle sprain in the fourth game of the season, not returning to action until the final two games.
He still was able to rush for 540 yards and seven touchdowns, attracting the attention of Coastal Carolina recruiters.
Billings has committed to Coastal Carolina, but his senior season at Georgetown is the first order of business.
His return should boost the Bulldogs, who went 5-5 last year in coach Bradley Adams' fourth season. Georgetown was 2-3 in Region 7-AAA, just missing the cut for the playoffs.
Billings will have help in the backfield from talented teammates such as quarterback Jarvis Brown and receivers Zaquan Collins and Darrion Graham.
Region competition might ease up a bit this season, with Socastee headed for Class AAAA, replaced by Lake City, which was 2-9 in Class AA last season.
The rest of the region will include Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, St. James and Wilson.
"It's going to always be a very tough region," Adams told the Georgetown Times.
"It still goes through Myrtle Beach. Any time Myrtle Beach is in your conference it's going to be a very tough conference."
The Bulldogs have had a good summer, with a better than average turnout for team workouts.
"The kids have worked extremely hard and the coaches have worked extremely hard," Adams said.
