Charleston County sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a woman found on a sidewalk early Thursday.
Deputies responded to the area of Ashley Crossing and Sunnyvale about 1:50 a.m. and found her body on the sidewalk, Maj. Eric Watson said.
Watson described the woman as a middle-age black female. She was fully clothed, and there were no immediate signs of trauma or foul play at the scene, he said.
The death is under investigation. The Charleston County Coroner's Office is expected to identify the woman and the manner of death at a later time.
