An empty school bus caught on fire and burned up in a neighborhood near Goose Creek Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was reported about 5:30 p.m. on Apple Circle, which is in the Willowbrook subdivision off Henry Brown Boulevard, according to Goose Creek Rural Fire Department Chief Michael Haines. There were no children on the bus and no report of injuries, he said.
The bus was completely engulfed in flames and appeared to be totaled, he said. The fire appeared to have started in the engine or transmission department.
