Myrtle Beach police on Wednesday will hold a press conference in Summerville discussing a gang-related shooting that killed three people and wounded a fourth on Memorial Day weekend.
The conference will be held 1 p.m. at the Summerville Police Department, according to Capt. Jon Rogers.
Three people killed in the shooting, Devonte Dantzler, Jamie Williams and Sandra Gaddis Barnwell, were all Summerville-area residents, he said. Myrtle Beach investigators continue to seek information in the case, he said.
Reports of a large fight drew officers to Myrtle Beach's Bermuda Sands Resort around 11 p.m. May 24.
The brawl escalated to a shooting before officers arrived, and a man was wounded.
While tending to the man, first responders reported hearing even more shots fired on a motel balcony. Dantzler, Williams and Barnwell were struck by bullets and killed.
Authorities have said that the shooting is believed to be gang related, though police have not publicly identified the groups involved.
When questioned after the shooting, Rogers said the Summerville Police Department hasn't seen an uptick in gang violence.
