One person was killed and another was injured Saturday when two vehicles collided on River Road, authorities said.
At 12:36 p.m., the Charleston County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a two-car wreck on River Road near Main Road, sheriff's spokesman Maj. Eric Watson said.
According to deputies, a 2006 Chevy Equinox collided with a 2011 Jeep Compass. The driver of the Jeep Compass was pronounced dead at the scene, Watson said. The driver of the Chevy Equinox was transported to Medical University Hospital.
The wreck is being investigated by the Sheriff's Office Traffic Division and the Charleston County Coroner's Office. The identification of the person who died has not yet been released.
