A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms will return to the forecast for Friday afternoon, but folks in the Charleston area can otherwise expect mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service.

The risk of storms will come mainly after 1 p.m. Friday, when the high temperature will hit 89 degrees and a 3 mph to 7 mph breeze will blow from the south.

The total risk of rain is 20 percent, the Weather Service said.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 76. South wind around 8 mph.

Sunday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Sunny, with a high near 94. Southwest wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 77.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 92.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 77.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 77.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 93.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 78.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
