GREER, S.C. - A Spartanburg County jail officer has been charged as part of an undercover drug sting in Greer.
Greer police tell local media outlets that 34-year-old Robert Lee Bolick of Cowpens was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of drug possession and one count of intent to distribute drugs.
Authorities say a man sold prescription drugs to an undercover officer August 10.
Sheriff Chuck Wright said during a news conference Wednesday that Bolick told officers it was the first time he had tried selling his prescriptions. The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating.
Sheriff's Lt. Kevin Bobo says Bolick had been a jail officer since September 2012 and was fired after his arrest.
