A body was found Friday morning under a dock at the Charleston City Marina, a police official said.

Charles Francis, a spokesman for the Charleston Police Department, said around 10:30 a.m. that the agency's harbor patrol officers, divers and detectives were headed to the scene on Lockwood Drive.

The marina is located in the downtown Charleston on the Ashley River south of the James Island Expressway.

No further information was immediately available.
