COLUMBIA, S.C. - Authorities say Columbia police have shot and wounded two suspects after one of them hit an officer with a car.
Police spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons says officers went to an apartment complex on Wednesday afternoon, trying to serve a warrant on a man in connection with carjacking earlier in the week.
Police say the men tried to run, and one hit an officer with a car.
Police fired, and both suspects were shot. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says they were sent to a hospital and will face charges when they are released.
Timmons says the officer had been treated for minor injuries. No names have been released.
