A bank robber's disguise was not enough to fool Summerville police, who believe they have identified the man behind the costume.
A man wearing a dark suit and hat walked into the South State Bank at 402 N. Main St. about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, gave a teller a note, showed a gun and walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police. The robber was described Wednesday as an olive-skinned white man between 50 and 60 years old.
Police announced Thursday that they are looking for Christopher Adam Mitchell, 24. He's clearly black in his mug shot. He was wearing a disguise at the bank, according to Summerville Police Capt. Jon Rogers.
Mitchell is wanted for entering a financial Institution with intent to steal. He has ties to North Charleston and Summerville and should be considered armed and dangerous, Rogers said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Summerville Police Department 851-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
Reach Dave Munday at 937-5553.
