Unlike many newcomers to the area's culinary scene, The Glass Onion is not a French restaurant. But the restaurant has a longstanding tradition of honoring Julia Child's birthday, which rolls around again at the end of next week.
To honor the groundbreaking chef, The Glass Onion on Aug. 15 is serving a $35 three-course dinner featuring classic dishes from Child's canon. The menu selections includes steak tartare, salad Nicoise, poached halibut, roast chicken and reine de saba, a chocolate-and-almond cake. No word if it comes with a candle.
For $25, customers can purchase a wine pairing. The live jazz music is free of charge.
The complete menu is viewable here. For reservations, call 225-1717.
