South Carolina won't be penalized for a cookie infraction after all. The NCAA has withdrawn the tastiest of its 22 secondary infractions charges against the school, a list released last week and including an "impermissible" decoration on a cookie cake presented to a prospect last winter.
The "violation" went viral.
But NCAA officials after speaking with South Carolina and SEC representatives have opted to forget about the cake caper.
To thank the NCAA, The State newspaper in Columbia reports that the Great American Cookies has sent a large cookie cake iced with "Thank You! NCAA" to the home office in Kansas City.
