PIEDMONT, S.C. - A former Greenville County deputy has been arrested after authorities found missing items inside his home.
Master Deputy Jonathan Smith says authorities were called June 30 about an intoxicated man threatening to blow up his home.
Smith says in a news release that former deputy Vic Vickers refused to leave but ultimately came out of the house and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Inside, Smith says deputies found no explosives but did find sheriff's office property that had been entrusted to Vickers while he was a deputy.
Vickers was jailed Wednesday on charges of breach of peace, misconduct in office and breach of trust. It wasn't immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
Smith says Vickers was with the sheriff's office for 19 years before resigning in 2013.
