A 2-year-old child was treated for minor injuries Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in Ravenel.
The wreck occurred off S.C. Highway 162 shortly before 8 p.m., according to Charleston County sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson.
Witnesses reported seeing the child run out of a home and across the street to catch up to a family member who was checking the mail, Watson said. A 2003 Honda SRV that was headed south on the road struck the child, he said.
The child was transported to Medical University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
No charges were filed against the driver, Watson said.
