This one was a toughie.

We received 22 great submissions this week for the Lowcountry beaches assignment and our editors spent longer than usual trying to figure out which one would appear in Friday's People section.

There were several classic beach shots that were very tempting but in the end they chose Jim Babb's photo of bottlenose dolphins strand feeding on Seabrook Island. Strand feeding is something unique to South Carolina and Georgia. Pick up a copy of Friday's newspaper to read what the editors liked most about the photo.

Moon over the Lowcountry

Next week's assignment is Moon over the Lowcountry. We thought it was a timely topic given the supermoon this weekend but it doesn't have to be from this weekend (in case it's too cloudy) and doesn't even have to be of a supermoon (those harvest moons are pretty striking, too.)

So just give us your best moonshot and we'll take it from there.

The rules

- Send just one (1) photograph to by noon on Tuesday, Aug. 12. Include your name, town and where the photo was taken. If you send us multiple photos we will select one randomly.

- We will allow photographs with reasonable watermarks to run in the gallery but for the winning photo that runs in the newspaper we must have a photo that does not have a watermark. If you want to send us one with the watermark (to run online) and one without (to possibly run in the newspaper) please feel free.
