ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Deputies say a 20-year-old man trying to shoot two people in a fight over stolen drugs in Orangeburg ended up shooting and killing a friend of his instead.
Investigators say officers responding to a call of gunshots in the area found 20-year-old Semaj Randolph in the front yard of a home. Orangeburg County Deputy Coroner Sean Fogle says Randolph died at the scene after the gunshot went through his shoulder and his lung.
Deputies say Marquis Stevenson was angry at two other men over stolen drugs, but missed his intended target when he fired his gun.
Stevenson has been charged with murder. He remains in jail and it wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
