Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., appeared on ABC's This Week on Sunday to talk about a variety of issues -- from race to immigration to the future of the Republican party.
Scott, 48, was appointed to the Senate in 2013 by Gov. Nikki Haley after Sen. Jim DeMint retired. Scott is currently seeking re-election.
"We have to be intentional about our approach to reaching out to every single voter," Scott said on the show. "We don't simply need to win the demographic war. We need to win the war of ideas. We need to be in a position to share our ideas in places where we haven't traditionally gone."
