A man who reported firing "warning shots" at another man who was nagging him for a ride is now facing an attempted murder charge, according to North Charleston police.
Jacques Summersett, 22, of North Oakridge Circle in North Charleston, is also charged with possession of a firearm during a violent crime and unlawful carrying of a firearm. A judge set a total $150,000 bail on the charges, jail records show.
The arrest was made Sunday in connection with a report of shots fired around 1:30 p.m. at the North Pointe Plaza shopping center off Rivers Avenue.
Summersett called dispatchers and admitted firing four "warning shots" at another man who was harassing him for a ride from a Chinese restaurant, North Charleston Police Department spokesman Spencer Pryor said.
No one was injured in the incident, Pryor said.
