The suspect in a fatal robbery that occurred last month is behind bars after being arrested in Savannah, according to authorities.

James Forrez Wright, 24, was taken into custody Monday by a fugitive task force with the U.S. Marshals Service.

He's detained at the Chatham County Detention Center and is expected to be extradited to South Carolina.

Wright will be charged with murder in connection with the killing of 24-year-old Latorria Heyward on July 13 on Savannah Highway at the Three Oaks mobile home park, according to investigators.

Two armed men forced their way into the mobile home and demanded money, authorities said.

Multiple shots were fired inside the home. Heyward and her fiance, Jerry Simmons, 29, were hit by bullets, but Simmons survived the attack, according to authorities.

Heyward died at the scene and Simmons, who was shot three times, was transported to Medical University hospital and released after treatment.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is still considering the case an active investigation and are asking the public for help in getting more information.

Authorities ask anyone with information to contact their office at 843-202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
