A North Charleston woman fatally stabbed her boyfriend Monday during a fight outside her home, according to authorities.
The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was at her Kent Street home Monday afternoon when her boyfriend, who also has not been named, arrived at the home, according to authorities.
The woman told police she refused to go outside and her boyfriend became angry and started damaging a car in the yard using a hammer, authorities said.
The woman also told investigators she then walked outside with a kitchen knife and asked her boyfriend to leave, officials said.
The man threw the hammer down and charged at the woman, according to the woman's account to police.
The knife ended up in the man's chest and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Authorities were interviewing the woman Monday afternoon and no charges have been filed against her.
