A driver died in a fiery crash in Colleton County Saturday morning, and the coroner's office is working to confirm an identify through dental records.
A 2002 Ford Taurus was going north on Featherbed Road toward U.S. Highway 17-A at 7:55 a.m. when the car ran off the right side of the road, hit a ditch, overturned and caught fire, according to Highway Patrol Sgt. Bob Beres.
The driver was wearing a seat belt and died at the scene, he said.
Colleton County Coroner Rich Harvey said he expected to confirm the victim's identity through dental records by Sunday.
