Some West Ashley commuters are facing detours today because of flooding concerns.

A portion of the intersection at U.S. Highway 17 and Bees Ferry Road is closed, according to a 4 p.m. announcement from Charleston County. All traffic from U.S. 17 onto Bees Ferry Road is being detoured.

Traffic from Bees Ferry Road onto U.S. 17 is permitted.

A portion of Old Charleston Highway between U.S. 17 and Main Road is also closed.

The Department of Transportation ordered the road closures because of flooding concerns, according to the announcement. DOT will decide when the roads will reopen.
