A flash-flood warning for the Charleston area has been extended until Friday morning.
More rain could cause more flooding through 11 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
More rain but no flooding is expected in downtown Charleston Thursday night, the Weather Service added in a tweet shortly after 9 p.m.
The warning includes Charleston, Daniel Island, the Naval Weapons Station, Summerville, Moncks Corner, St. George, Walterboro and Edisto Beach.
Between 4 and 8 inches of rain fell in some places Thursday afternoon, and more scattered thunderstorms are expected Thursday night, according to the weather service.
Heavy rains closed several downtown Charleston streets Thursday afternoon. Heavy flooding was also reported on Folly Road.
There's a 50 percent chance of rain Friday and a 60 percent chance on Saturday.
The chance increases to 70 percent for Sunday with mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures this weekend will likely be around the low 80s.
