CLEMSON, S.C. - Authorities say a man reported missing in Clemson has been found dead in Lake Hartwell.
Clemson Police Chief Jimmy Dixon says dispatchers got a call at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday about a body in the water near a bridge.
Police have identified the man as 50-year-old man James Davis of Clemson. Davis had been reported missing earlier Tuesday. Investigators said he was last seen Monday morning near where his body was found, at a favorite fishing spot on the lake.
Authorities have not said how Davis died. An autopsy is planned.
