Running back Mon Denson (5-11, 214) of LaGrange, Ga., didn't land an offer from South Carolina until last Saturday, but it didn't take him long to decide that he wanted to join Steve Spurrier's program.
Denson came out of the Gamecock Showcase Camp favoring the Gamecocks over North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas and Wisconsin, and on Tuesday announced a commitment to USC during a news conference at his school.
He is the 27th commitment for the 2015 class including three holdovers from the 2014 class, and is the second running back in the class.
"I liked it when I went up there," Denson said. "What stood out the most was they didn't try to amaze you with their facilities and everything."
The College of Charleston volleyball program tabbed six former standouts for the 2014 Wall of Fame Induction Class, said head coach Jason Kepner.
Former players Alisa Long (2000-03), Sara Davis (2001-04), Cole Dawley (2007-10), Sarah Havel (2008-11), Elyse Chubb (2008-11) and Darcy Dorton (2012-13) were all selected for this year's Wall of Fame.
The six players combined for 11 conference championships and six NCAA tournament appearances. During their time, they helped make College of Charleston the premier volleyball program in the Southern Conference and one of the top-10 winningest programs in the nation.
