A severed cable line resulted in a 6-hour Comcast outage in parts of Charleston County on Monday, an official said today.
A tree-trimming crew accidently cut a fiber optic cable on Fort Johnson Road in James Island late Monday afternoon, said Shannon Dulin, Comcast's senior manager for government and regulatory affairs.
The incident downed Internet, phone and cable services for some customers in James Island, Folly Beach and part of West Ashley, she said.
The outage lasted roughly six hours before crews were able to begin restoring service to affected customers, Dulin added.
