Freelancing Gullah-Geechee chef BJ Dennis has released the menu for his brunch at Roadside Seafood this Sunday, and it's flush with reasons to take your appetite to James Island.
Dishes include baked crab-stuffed flounder smothered in shrimp gravy, served with okra soup and red rice; crispy fish-and-potato hash cakes with Creole sauce and pancakes with peach syrup. For breakfasters who like to stick to the classics, there's fried whiting , shrimp and oysters over grits with gravy. In addition to bacon and sausage, the side dish menu lists shrimp purloo.
All of the items will be priced a la carte; Dennis says prices range from $5-$25.
The brunch runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Aug. 3. Roadside Seafood is located at 807 Folly Road. For more information, call 754-5890 (But don't try to make a reservation! The brunch is offered on a walk-in basis only.)
