More than 130 sailors competed in 17 classes in the Carolina Yacht Club Open Regatta on Saturday and Sunday in Charleston Harbor.
Cameron "Scott" Gise was awarded the Henry Clay Robertson IV Trophy that goes to the top sailor 16 or younger following Sunday's races. Peter Hogan received the Philip O'Neill Hanvey Memorial Trophy awarded to the sailor under 21 who exhibits integrity, sportsmanship, competitiveness and love for sailing.
Participants in the annual Carolina Yacht Club Open Regatta sailed as many as seven races over the weekend.
The event was open to all one-design boats with a minimum of four boats constituting a class. Last year's Carolina Yacht Club Regatta featured 15 classes. It was a points regatta for the SAYRA Junior Series for Optis, Sunfish, Lasers and 420s.
The local regatta season continues Saturday and Sunday with the annual Rockville Regatta, sailed out of Sea Island Yacht Club.
