The National Weather service is warning of heavy rain in the Charleston area this afternoon.
The service sent out a tweet just before 4:30 p.m saying, "Heavy rain from thunderstorms in upper West Ashley, North Charleston, and Daniel Island will cause a wet commute late this afternoon!"
The service also issued an advisory for Berkeley and central Charleston counties warning of minor flooding through 5:45 p.m.
