-Sea Islands Cars and Coffee will take place 8-10 a.m. at Freshfields Village, located at the crossroads of Kiawah, Seabrook and Johns islands. -Lowcountry Muscle Car will be hosting the 2014 Heritage Cruise starting at 10 a.m. at the parking lot of Walmart Supercenter, 1317 N. Main St. in Summerville (off Interstate 26 exit 199A). The casual cruise will feature scenic stopovers at Richard H. Rosebrock Park and the (some say haunted) Presbyterian Church on the Edisto. Lunch will be at the Waterfront restaurant and shopping at the Curley Sue Shops. There will be a scenic walking tour of Botany Bay Wildlife Area with pristine marshes and beaches, wrapping up at King's Farm Market for fresh vegetables, pie, cake and fresh bread. -The monthly 3rd Saturday Cruise-in hosted by Lowcountry Muscle Car will be held at Sonic Drive-in, 660 College Park Road. Cruise-in any time after 5 p.m. All auto clubs and "free spirits" are welcome. The Sonic crew will pick their favorite vehicle, which will be presented with the "ride-of-the-month" plaque. -The NOPI Nationals Southeast Showdown will be held at Myrtle Beach Speedway, 455 Hospitality Lane in Myrtle Beach. The showdown will be 6-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $15 on Friday, $25 on Saturday or Sunday. Exhibition space starts at $300. The event's car show includes more than 100 classes, best of shows, largest club and quality club. NOPI Drift Entertainment will be featured. -Lowcountry Muscle Car will be hosting an open drag day at the Bowman Dragstrip, 384 Berrywood Road in Orangeburg. Join other auto enthusiasts for a day at the track, which is a 45 minute cruise from Summerville. It's billed as "fun for the whole family." -The 2014 AMO (American Motors Owners Association) International Convention will be held at Charleston Plaza Hotel in North Charleston. The four-day event, hosted by Carolina AMC, will celebrate 60 years of AMC 1954-2014. Brands include Nash, Hudson, Rambler, AMC, Jeep, Renault and Eagle. Organizers say hundreds of AMC-related cars will be on display. There will be Concours AMO judging, vendors and prizes 8 a.m.-4 p.m. for the Saturday car show.
