ESPN and Comcast Cable have reached an agreement to carry the SEC Network, meaning the new sports network will be available to more than 46 million households.
The network, which launches Aug. 14, had already reached deals with Dish Network, Cox Communications, AT&T U-verse and Google Fiber. Time Warner Cable and DirecTV have not reached deals, but are in discussions with the SEC Network.
Comcast will also make SEC Network available on its digital platforms, meaning network programs will be available live and on-demand any time on any device.
"We are extremely pleased to have reached this agreement with ESPN to deliver the SEC Network to Xfinity TV customers on multiple platforms," Comcast executive Matt Strauss said in a news release. "Whether in the home or on the go, Xfinity TV customers will be able to watch their favorite Southeastern Conference teams in more ways than ever before."
The SEC Network will air 45 exclusive SEC football games, including South Carolina's season-opener against Texas A&M on Aug. 28 (6 p.m.) at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.
