A Lincolnville man was shot and a woman bound in a home invasion around midnight Friday, Charleston County sheriff's deputies reported.
Authorities responded to the home on Evergreen Oak Road following a report of a burglary and shots fired, Sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson said.
Two men forced their way into a home, shot a male resident in the chest and tied up a woman, he said. The wounded man was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The home appeared ransacked, but a motive has not yet been determined, according to Watson.
Deputies reported that two children, ages 5 and 1, were at the home when the shooting occurred. The children weren't hurt in the incident, Watson said.
The victims could not provide deputies with a clear description of the suspects.
Anyone with information about the shooting can call Charleston County's Consolidated Dispatch Center at 743-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
