A gunman wounded two people in a shooting Tuesday night, North Charleston police reported.

Officers responded around 8 p.m. to the area of West Enterprise and West Dolphin streets following a report of the shooting, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

Two men told investigators that they were wounded when someone fired multiple shots toward their vehicle. They were treated at a hospital for injuries that weren't believed to be life threatening, Pryor said.

The gunman was described as a black man dressed in black clothing and a red hat, Pryor said.
