An argument turned violent early Wednesday when two men pulled out guns and shot each other, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.
A deputy was called to Old Back River and Smalls Hills roads outside of Goose Creek around 1 a.m., according to the incident report.
A man was lying along Smalls Hill Road with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was later identified as Jack Scruggs Jr., 31. His address was not given.
A small pistol was on the ground under Scruggs' leg, according to the report. He told the deputy he met a man named "D" to sell him speakers and the other man shot him. EMS took Scruggs to Medical University Hospital.
Another man was also nearby with gunshot wounds. He was later identified as Darrell Williams, 22. His address also was not reported.
Investigators believe the men shot each other during an argument but were still working to determine who fired first, sheriff's office spokesman Dan Moon said.
