According to the state Department of Public Safety, two of the six four deaths reported between Friday and Sunday occurred on U.S., state and secondary roads, with the remaining fatalities occurring on an interstate and a county road.
One of the people killed was a motorcyclist, authorities said. Two others had access to seat belts but weren't wearing them when the wrecks occurred, officials said.
The deaths brought this year's total to 379, compared with the 391 highway deaths reported this time last year, officials said.
Of those deaths, 21 were reported in Charleston County. Eleven people died in Berkeley County and six in Dorchester County, Public Safety numbers show.
