The City of Charleston Fire Department responded to a fire on East Bay Street that had the street shut down for a while.
According to the department, crews responded to a call of a possible fire shortly before 4:30 p.m.
When they arrived, firefighters extinguished a small blaze on the roof using a fire extinguisher. The building was evacuated as crews operated on scene, according to the department.
The fire reportedly started when workmen were soldering on the roof.
