It has become a matter of time for the anglers participating in the MegaDock Billfishing Tournament. Four boats have accumulated 600 points, three of them reaching the 600-point plateau Friday, Pisces IV with a blue marlin, Miss Wy also with a blue marlin and Miss Annie with three sailfish.

Ties are broken by the first boat to reach that level, meaning Pisces IV, owed by Rich LaVecchia, is in first place, releasing a blue marlin at 8:34 a.m. Friday, its first of two fishing days.

Miss Wy, owned by Ed Holder, released its blue marlin at 9:36 a.m. Friday, also on its first fishing day.

Miss Annie, owned by Barry Weshnak, released its third sailfish at 12:50 p.m. Friday, beating out first-day leader Mister Pete based on time. Mister Pete's third sailfish was released at 2:28 p.m. Thursday.

There were two blue marlin and eight sailfish released Friday. None of the seven boats that fished Thursday used Friday as a fish day, meaning all 27 boats entered in the fourth event in the South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series will be eligible to fish Saturday.

Sportsmann took the wahoo lead with a 62.6-pound catch Friday and Anticipation moved into the tuna lead with a 19.2-pound catch on Friday. Trick 'em retained the dolphin lead with its 37.2-pound catch Thursday.

The final weigh-in at the Charleston City Marina will take place from 5-7 p.m. Saturday.
