The Santa Elena Foundation announced Thursday the naming of a new executive director.
Andrew J. Beall will take over the administration of the foundation, which is a nonprofit that promotes the history of European arrival on the North American coast, according to a written release.
Beall moved to the Lowcountry in 2010. He has 30 years experience in the industrial equipment industry. He lived and worked around the world, leading teams that established operations for global customers. Beall earned a doctorate in business administration through the University of Phoenix.
"I am so very pleased with the support the Santa Elena Foundation has received from the community and the immediate interest people show when they hear European settlers first arrived here 450 years ago," said Beall, according to the release. "For me, this role is an opportunity to work with a remarkable team of people on a historic project significant for our community."
