Thunderstorms and high tides could combine for some flooding Thursday in the Lowcountry, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters at the service's Charleston station said scattered storms and showers could bring heavy rainfall after 2 p.m.

If that rain comes around the time of the evening high tide, which is at 7:16 p.m. in downtown Charleston, some flooding could result, they said.

Otherwise, people in the Charleston area can expect partly sunny skies and a high of 90 degrees on Thursday.

With the evening sea breeze, the risk of minor coastal flooding will persist around the evening high tide Friday through Monday regardless of rainfall, the meteorologists said.
